what if when you look into your own eyes in the mirror and you noticed your thoughts "nothingness, blank" (in a nt gd way?)... or your eyes look at your flaws or what you dislike in the mirror next? (eyes going all over except into the eyes. if come back to the eyes it's the same thought. I know it in theory "it's just a thought" how does one soothe oneself at this point spiritually when you have emotionally unavailable parents?

This is exactly it. I could never understand that the very few times when I was really upset about a situation, instead of understanding and support I would get yelled at or told I needed to see a therapist. The other thing is that even when you are "perfect", always in control and never needing anything from them, you still aren't getting love. You just convince yourself that it's love because you have been conditioned to not expect much and you don't know what real love looks like. Omg, I've been free for 6 years after a 41 year marriage!

Gonna use this example someone gave "people invalidating us is like telling someone with cancer or that is dying 'you should be happy. There are people out there worse than you'". People do not realize this is what they are doing and why it hurts. We're not being too sensitive or we're not making a big deal out of it.
